Compared to its predecessor, the PPC-150 is more compact in size and features convenient settings with a streamlined appearance and an improved user interface. The new design allows system integrators to have more space available for customization with the extra benefit of computing performance that is faster than ever. The PPC-150 also incorporates a number of green design features enabling easier development of cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions due to its lower energy consumption.
The Power of mSATA
Equipment control applications usually have higher requirements for stability. The PPC-150 not only provides a general SATA interface to connect a hard disk, but also offers an mSATA solid-state storage card with a built-in operating system to speed up system boot time. For extra robustness, the solid-state storage card has been securely attached to the system board to protect it from vibration. With its low power consumption and fast data transfer rate, mSATA, a type of flash memory, is significantly less concerned with collision and vibration issues normally associated with traditional hard disks, while also having a better, longer product life cycle, making it more suitable for automation applications. In order to meet the demanding requirements of industrial environments, mSATA storage can operate in ultra-high temperature ranges, enabling the PPC-150 to operate flawlessly anywhere from 0°C to 50°C.Multiple Convenient I/O Interfaces
The COM port is one of the most important peripheral equipment components used in industrial computing. The PPC-150 supports four COM ports, two of which are dedicated for RS-232, and two supporting RS-232/422/485 with auto-flow control. Additionally, the RS-232 ports are protected from electrostatic discharge (ESD) with an air gap of ±15kV, and an ±8kV contact. To maximize convenience, six USB and a VGA / HDMI interface also provide diverse connectivity options for peripheral devices.Green Saving Design
The PPC-150 was designed with environmental friendliness in mind from the start. In addition to using a low power Intel® Atom™ processor and chipset to achieve higher computing performance, other components were selected specifically for their energy efficiency, such as the LED backlight module and power control IC. The PPC-150 provides excellent anti-electromagnetic interference in keeping with environmental protection standards, and there is no need to coat the unit with conductive paint or metallic plating, thus reducing the use of composite materials and creating a more environmentally friendly product.PPC-150 Key Features:
